The neighbourhood Canovas is known for it’s luxurious shops and boutiques filled with beautiful clothes and Spanish delicates. Situated just south of the old city centre, you can enjoy a lot of nice restaurants and bars. A neighbourhood full of energy where you can enjoy a good cocktail on one of the many terraces on a warm summer evening!

Thanks to its central location, you can easily reach Turia Park from Canovas, as well as one of the main roads, Gran Vía Marqués del Túria. The neighborhood belongs to the L’Eixample district and is just a 15-minute walk from the old town. In addition, Mercado de Colón is located here, one of Valencia’s iconic markets. It’s particularly famous for its charming cafés where you can enjoy coffee, tea, horchata and fartons, the typical Valencian bread dipped into horchata. Unlike traditional food markets like Mercado Central and Mercado de Ruzafa, this market offers a more relaxed vibe. Moreover, Canovas is increasingly popular among Valencia’s working class, and more creative entrepreneurs are opening their shops in the area.

Shopping

In Canovas you will not find big stores but small boutiques in many streets. Hop in Place for example; one spot where different shops show their collection. It is opened in 2013 and you can find all kinds of stuff. Think about vintage clothing, new clothes and new labels, handmade presents, plants and many more things. In EseOese you can find bohemian chic clothes and accessories. This place is very popular in the Spanish community! In the mood for something sweet?

Drinks

If you want to grab a cocktail or nice wine after a day of discovering Valencia, Canovas can offer you a lot of different places! Restaurants

In Canovas you can find many restaurants, where you can enjoy tapas, Asian food, fresh fish or more international dishes. Our favourites:

Casa Roberto

If we say Casa Roberto, we say paella! This most famous Spanish dish was found in Valencia. Still it is possible to visit the rice fields in L’Albufera. At Casa Roberto you can enjoy traditional rice dishes like Paella Valenciana, or rice with gambas. Did you know paella is a dish eaten during lunch time and not for dinner? At this restaurant you can enjoy typical Spanish food for lunch and dinner.

When it’s good weather you can enjoy this dinner or lunch on their lovely terrace on the street side.

If you’re looking for a cozy dining spot, Turqueta is a great choice. As part of the well-known Grupo Saona, it offers a warm atmosphere and friendly service. The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, and best of all, there’s plenty of variety to suit every taste. At Turqueta they have all kind of cheap menu’s! A recommendation is the poké bowl with tuna, avocado, rice and the chicken teriyaki with sesame sauce and spring onions. Mmmm…. this bowl is amazing!
