Fun shops for kids
- Dideco is a lovely toy store located in the ‘El Pla del Remei’ neighborhood, not far from the Mercado de Colón.
- Lefties is a large store offering clothing, shoes, and accessories. You’ll find it on Calle Colón, close to Plaza de Toros. There’s also a big section for kids.
- Ale-Hop is a fun store full of accessories and quirky gadgets. You can recognize it by the big cow standing outside, and there are several branches throughout Valencia.
Original souvenirs
- Simple is a beautiful store offering products that are made in Spain.
- La Postalera is a charming shop where you’ll find lovely postcards, ceramics, keychains, backpacks, bags, and plenty of other fun items.
- Right across from the Mercado Central, you’ll find the store Original CV. It’s full of gourmet products from the Valencia region, from a bottle of Agua de Valencia to delicious local olive oil, and from turrón (a kind of nougat) to saffron (perfect for paella). Don’t forget to look around, the store is housed in a stunning historic building.
- At Plaza de la Reina, you’ll find the Valor chocolate shop. It’s a great place to enjoy churros with hot chocolate, or to pick up some Valor chocolate bars to take home.
- The Espanista can be found in several locations, including the bohemian Ruzafa district. Here you’ll find local gourmet treats as well as beautiful prints, books, caps, and more.
Boutiques (clothes & shoes)
- El Mundo al Revés is located just across from the Mercado de Colón. Housed in a stunning building, both the façade and the interior, this boutique offers beautiful women’s clothing and accessories.
- Also across from the Mercado de Colón, you’ll find Blue Banana. This store was founded by Nacho Rivera and Juan Fernández-Estrada, both from Madrid. It offers clothing for men, women, and kids.
- Just around the corner from the Mercado de Colón is Sanjhara, a boutique with boho-style women’s clothing and accessories.
- In 1988, fashion brand Eseoese was founded in Barcelona by Sílvia Esteve. Today, you’ll find shops in several cities, including one in Valencia on Calle Jorge Juan (right near the Mercado de Colón). The warm, stylish vibe is instantly noticeable as soon as you walk in.
Vintage clothes
- Santo Spirito is a stylish store in the city center of Valencia offering both well-known and more unique vintage clothing brands. They’ve also launched their own clothing line.
- In Ruzafa, you’ll find lots of different vintage stores, making it a must-visit neighborhood for vintage lovers. One of the standout shops is Reborn Lab.
- Reused is also located in the Ruzafa district. In addition to great vintage clothing, you’ll find a cool selection of vintage sneakers.
Shops for men
- At the Spanish brand El Ganso, you’ll find clothing for both men and women. It’s a great option if you want to go for Spanish fashion but prefer something smaller than big names like Zara or Mango.
- Silbon also offers clothing and accessories for men and women. This Spanish brand was originally founded in Córdoba, in the Andalusia region.
Fleamarket
- El Rastro, also known as the flea market, takes place every Sunday in Valencia from around 08:30 to 14:00.
Frequently asked questions – shopping in Valencia
What are the opening hours of shops in Valencia?
Many (smaller) shops open from 10.00 – 14.00 hour and from 17.00 – 20.30 hour. The bigger shops in for example calle Colon or in the shopping malls are open normally between 10.00 – 21.00 hour. And the El Corte Inglés shopping center opens till 22.00 hour. Keep in mind that smaller shops can have different opening hours.
Are the shops in Valencia open on Sundays?
Normally from mid June till the first week of January the shopping mall ‘ el Corte Ingles’ opens on Sundays. During these Sundays some bigger chains are also opening the doors in ‘calle Colon’. Furthermore some smaller shops in the historical centre open every day of the week.
When do sales start in Valencia?
After three kings, the 6th of January, will start the winter sales. Mid June or at the end of June/beginning of July the summer sales start in Valencia.
What are typical Valencian products to buy?
Among other things: a paella pan, saffron, turrón, bomba rice, and Valor chocolate.
