About the City of Arts and Sciences

Located at the eastern end of the Turia Gardens, the CAC is a masterpiece of modern architecture. It features six major buildings:

Most of the complex was designed by world-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. If you’ve seen the Oculus at the World Trade Center in New York, you’ve already encountered his visionary style – which originated right here in Valencia. The Oceanogràfic was designed by his mentor, Félix Candela.

This futuristic space opened its first building in 1998 and was completed in 2009. It hosts exhibitions, concerts, science experiences, and daily strolls for locals and visitors alike. With its clean white lines and shimmering blue pools, it’s a place where art, science, and nature intersect beautifully.
